This sounds all too familiar to me. I broke up with a guy last year that has been trying to get me to go out with him again. I don't know your circumstances, but I can share mine with you...maybe that will help. I broke up with this guy because I felt like he was suffocating me. He had very strong feelings for me very quickly. I tried to tell him to slow down, but he didn't listen. I have no doubt that his feelings are secure. He is a wonderful man, but it still pushed me away. He has given me a year of space and has recently been contacting me more often. I am actually starting to reconsider dating him again IF he will go slow and not rush anything. We have been talking off and on now for a few months. I would not push or rush anything. If you do, you can jeopardize what you do still have. I would not shower her with gifts. Keep talking, but do not suffocate her. Give her some space...be there for her...you never know. So, what was broke? I know you didn't innitiate the breakup, but surly you have ideas on what was broke. Do not go back until you're 99% sure you know what was broke, and that you can fix it. My husband and I were highschool sweethearts and he up and left after my sophomore year and moved to Houston.He and I both wanted each other back but it was so awkward we didn't know what to do, and there was so much hurt from the breakup it was hard but finally I decided that I wasn't going to lose him to my stupid fear. I jumped in full force. Told him how I felt and laid it all on the line. He wasn't ready so I waited and we stayed friends. I talked to him every day and made sure I was always there for him. I took heart in the fact that he wasn't dating and just showed him that I was a happy and fun person to be around. I didn't let him know how much it hurt to be just friends I just let him see me. And eventually he fell in love with me all over again. We have been married a year now and have a beautiful little girl. All the pain of waiting was worth it. Just let her see you the person she was once in love with and who knows what can happen.
